Blues usually have one pink toe . So chances are your black is a blue.
As you can see by the chart, black to splash = 100% blue.

You might have a blue and a splash. Does the little dark one have a pink toe?

Yes, it may take a few times because she will keep going back to the spot and sitting with nothing there.

I agree. I just had 2 broodies and they hatched 3 but I had to take them away because they were not taking care of them. They were more interested in the unhatched eggs.

I had two broodie's sitting together in one nest. A chick hatched and they both wanted it, so I had to split them up. Then more hatched and the one who had them was too occupied with the eggs!

I have a hen who did that to she would not get off the eggs and she had 2 hatched babies I took the eggs and put then in my incubator she took care of them but the eggs in the bator didn't hatch even though there was babies in them I felt bad

I read that any color hen breed ti a white rooster can make a rainbow of chicken colors

I'm new here and just love all of the silkies photos. So beautiful! I just got 5 silkies today and can't wait to watch them grow up. I *think* I have one grey, splash or blue maybe, I'm really not sure, two buff, one white and one black. They are so quiet and seems like they are really happy. And I am super happy!
