Silkie thread!

Lol!
Growing up we had a game hen that hatched a Turkey, of course the Turkey outgrew mama quick but that hen would sleep with that Turkey beside her and her wing up over that turkey. Even full grown that Turkey would follow that hen around. It was the funniest sight ever

Lmao. Wow... Now.that had to have been a trip. I bet the other hens were gossiping about whose the baby daddy!
lol!!!!!! Yea probably!!!!!!!

I love my silkies. I have about a dozen pures plus quite a few of thier babies. My girls go broody at the drop of a hat. Here are two of my girls sitting on a clytch of 20 blue easter egger eggs that they claimed, 6 white leghorns, 6 bantams and im pretty sure there is a pear tree somewhere under there! Lol. They tried to hatch rocks and a couple golf balls earlier this year so at least they are on the right track now....

That is so cute. Looks like my Partridge and Black who are both broody now too. My Partridge tried to hatch a cucumber slice last year!

Seven years ago you could chase me with a silkie. But since that time I've had nine and I am down to one roo who is a great huggie. I have a hatch in 6 more days!

I am having a delimma. The pullet I've been tube feeding is not getting better. Actually she can't even walk backwards anymore. She has to flop her wings just to get herself in a different position. Her thinking seems to be ok, it's her body that wont cooperate. I"ve decided to try worming her for cocci first then will worm for round worms. Last year I put down several birds that looked like they had Mereks and it turned out to be worms when I had a necropsy done. I have 3 1/2 weeks to get her where she can get around and eat and drink on her own. I"m going out of town becaue my brother is having brain surgery and I'll be gone for almost a week and there is nobody that can take care of her like she needs. She will just die, starve to death in her own poo. Thats no way for anything to go.

My plan is to keep trying to get her better till I have to go and if she can't do what she will need to be able to do I'll put her down quick so she won't suffer while I'm gone. I have gotten so attached to her and it will be very hard but necessary. I will be going to northern Indiana. I"m hoping there is somebody that reads this that can and will tend to her for me. I may be just prolonging the inevitable. Thats why I'm asking you all for advice.

My plans for this pullet was to possibly show her then in September when the St. Jude fund raiser is going on I was going to pair her up with another very nice silkie boy and donate them for the auction to raise money for St. Jude. I donate birds every year and wanted to donate a pair this time instead of all boys. The pair would bring more money for the fund raiser than just boys will. Last year they went for $60 each and like I said they where all boys. I saw a cake go for $250.00. These people at this all weekend fund raiser have no problem reaching deep into their wallets and purses. This pullet is being saved for a good cause. I could use some help keeping her alive and back to good health. I can use any and all advice I can get.

What should I do? What would you do?
