I would check a local breeder or even online for availability.

We have no local breeders and I'm iffy on hatcheries. I've gotten silkies from hatcheries and they always die or never lay

I see your problem. at the moment im waiting about a month for my silkie to start laying, but if you dont have fertilized eggs by then, I can keep you posted. Ive got a white silkie pullet and a buff silkie roo, his dad was a red and his mom was a buff, so his chicks may have red or buff leakage, and my white silkies mum was a lavender, and her da was a white roo. so their babies would be mighty pretty, so yeah. ill keep you updated if you want ^^

if (s)he is a roo, than I will have 4 roos. "his" behaviour is very hen like, all the confirmed roos pay "him" no attention and they just walk past each other peacfully, so i'm confused.
