I know this has been asked before, but I can't seem to find the answer when I search. How old are Silkies when they begin to lay?

I think the average is around 6 months

@silkiecuddles a small local store, I think they got their chicks from a large hatchery? I don't think he's a breeder quality silkie as his crest is teeny.
