i have no expeience with silkies but i have some rose comb banties and i knew the roosters from the hens during the awkward scraggly stage when their feathers were coming in. the comb is usually the first indicater. i have two barred rocks that i knew were roos befoe my mom even realized. that was an argument that went on for awhile. my mom has raised chickens all her life but theses Rocks were hard.Hi, I bought some silkie eggs from a lady locally and hatched them. I think a couple might have a mix in them, and they are just shy of 7 weeks. I realize this breed is very difficult to sex, but I would welcome any guesses. And or opinions as to what sex they are leaning towards. We are going to rehome any roosters. We are planning on just keeping 1 rooster.
I have never owned silkies, so I am clueless as far as sexing goes.
Ok here they are:
Chick 1
Chick 2
Chick 3
