Looks like a roo to me.![]()

Can anyone tell me if my silkie is looking like a hen or a rooster? I have two and they look nothing alike head wise. This on has already got its comb and its crown (head fluff) is more cotton ball like and my other one looks more this the wing feathers. Any ideas? They are 4 weeks.
Are they your only two chicks currently? Also I read that silkies are supposed to be super nice and docile but my two silkies are super skidish and freak out if I pick either of them up. Why is this?
Alright. Do you think the other one I have is a hen then? It doesn't have any comb development and the crown looks different. I can take some pics of that ones head too if ya want?Looks like a roo to me.![]()

theres a good chance the other one is female if they look that different. Pics would be helpful.Alright. Do you think the other one I have is a hen then? It doesn't have any comb development and the crown looks different. I can take some pics of that ones head too if ya want?
No I have four other chicks, they all live together and seem very happy. The other four chicks I have are super friendly once I pick them up which isn't hard but no matter how hard I try with the silkies they freak out.

This is probably how the silkies see it: you're a very tall scary being and they are the size of a small fist. Are they in a plastic bin brooder? Where is it?
@Lamaremybabies check out this article by @azygous about chick's brooders. It's really great and informative, and definitely helps to get your chicks friendlier.
