Silkie thread!

One of my latest hatches. Blanche isn't a Silkie, she's a Sizzle (pretty much a Silkie with normal feathers). This was her first time, she's done a great job. I have 2 more hens, another Sizzle and a frizzled Silkie, sitting on mostly EE eggs and another hen seems like she's thinking about going broody too. Blanche got 4 Silkie/Sizzle eggs for her first attempt, I've seen 2 so far, hopefully there are more tomorrow! She seems happy with her little peeps.
SO cute! Nothing sweeter than a Silkie momma and her babies

At 2 weeks of age, I take mine outside for 30-60 minutes at a time. I sit with them and a boiled egg in hand. Once I start crumbling the egg they are all over me.
Try the same teqnique in the brooder , with cooked rice or egg and once they come to you just leave your hand there to linger. They will eventually become accustomed to the hand .

Alright I'll give it a try.

If you have enough space and more than one hen for them, it could work. As long as one can back down and get away from the one who becomes the dominant one, and the two of them aren't fighting over too few ladies, it's possible.

Well if they are both roosters then I'll have four hens and two roosters, does it matter that the hens are Gold sex links and not silkies or bantams? Also space is not an issue except when they are in their house but they'll only be in there at night. I have 16 acres although only like 2 of the 16 acres are cleared. Is that enough for 2 roosters and 4 hens?
