Silkie thread!

My Red Pyle baby looks like something attacked it, ha. Any thoughts on the sex? He/she wouldn't stand up long enough to get a pic, the sun felt too good.
So cute! Looks like a pullet IMO :)

1, 3, and 4 look like Roosters.

They must look cute on a plate with unusual black meat.  Not to be funny but does the meat have any difference in taste from other chicken meat?  We just can't think of eating our Silkies because we've had them for so long as pets -- but then we don't have an abundance of birds to dispatch the way breeders have to.

Its almost like having an all dark meat bird, if you're a fan of dark meat. I must admit, the first one we ate, seeing all the black meat was a bit off putting. But, they still taste like chicken.

And #3 for that matter lol.
Those are the too that seems to be girls from all i have seen and read?
They have no waddle growth at all and no comb to speak of.
The first two pictures both have waddle growth and a comb.
And stand tall and proud when the others run for cover

#s 3 and 4 are bearded. They won't have much wattles even if they are boys...
The other 2 are non bearded, they'll have good sized wattles even if they're girls...
