Silkie thread!

#s 3 and 4 are bearded. They won't have much wattles even if they are boys...
The other 2 are non bearded, they'll have good sized wattles even if they're girls...

then what makes them look like boys right now?

Wondering if still to early to tell sex on these. I have 6 total and two i think may be boys

I guess the person who originally replied was probably looking at their uneven crests. Pullets are usually more round, like the second bird you posted (which I think is a girl). The first one looks like a boy. I won't even hazard a guess on the bearded birds yet, they're a lot harder to sex. I can usually tell what mine are somewhere around 4-6 months old. Before then, it's all just guessing.

Can someone telle does crossing a buff hen with a lavender cockerel make a porcelain silkie? I bought 5 silkies. Hen was buff father was lavender. Trying to figure out their coloring?

They are my first silkies so i dont know much. The second picture that u said looks like a girl is suprising to me! Just because of its behavior its the one i have been sure s the roo from day one. It always stands tall and calls the others to treats. So i just assumed by its behavior! I am so curious to know! They are 10 weeks old now. I will post pics later in another month or 2 !

Yes, buff and lav is how you get porcelain (self blue cream).

OK thanks. One more question. Feathers are coming in somewhat curly in the lavender looking one. Is this normal?
