I will say that its beak and toes are very light, even for a paint which can have light spots in its black skin and beak. Its beak looks orange in the photo and made me wonder if it was pure Silkie.

Ironically, I just hatched a paint chick that has totally pink legs and toes and a pink beak! Just moments ago.![]()

Yes, but what about a paint chick that is almost entirely a pigment hole? I think the one I hatched is from my two young paints that have some obvious pigment holes. I was wondering what their chicks might look like and it is disappointing, but not surprising. I have really nice young paints from an older paint rooster that doesn't seem to have any pigment holes, over black hens.
