Stella strutting 'her' stuff. Lol, if 'she' turns out to be a 'he' it's going to take some getting use to.

So, are we thinking a boy or girl?

That is because the Barring gene has a restricting effect on fibromelanosis; meaning it's very hard (not impossible, but very hard) to get a Cuckoo Silkie with appropriately dark skin. That and their relatively recent creation (I believe they've been around for 20 years or so?) are some of the main reasons they are not yet an accepted variety. Breeders still have a LOT of work to do to improve and perfect them. With that said, you'll note that good progress has been made on the variety; hence plenty of Cuckoo birds showing good combs, toes, and type. You could perhaps accuse them of having yet to be worked out faults, but they are most assuredly Silkies.

They are improving all the time. Paint silkies have holes in the pigment, doesn't make them any less desirable .
The little ' fuzzys ' can work their magic on anyone's

X2!!

I have a gorgeous little paint cockerel and a white split to paint pullet... the pullet has pink spots on her toes and comb, but she's still a pretty little Silkie... :)

5 month old DNA'd cockerel but no comb yet. Are some just late bloomers?

More pictures of him. What do you think?

It was DNA sexed? Do you have the paperwork and band to go along with it?
Did you buy it like that or have it done yourself? I seems like a hen in appearance but plenty have been fooled ;)
