Silkie thread!

He's Australian Shepherd x Australian Cattle Dog. He's the quietest, sweetest dog. He's my Mom's favorite dog ever because he doesn't lick and will sit quietly so she can pet him.

The 2 breed mixes calm the offspring plus human atmosphere also creates good canine calmness. Friend of ours had a Aussie Cattle Dog that was super-hyper because the dad kept teasing it and egging it on to nip and chase and bark. Yet I've seen a neighborhood owner who walks his same breed Cattle Dog off-leash and the dog obediently and calmly walks exactly next to him. A human owner makes a big difference. I love the black/white/rust mountain dog look - very sweet.

Santa silkie got himself a new ride this year.

So... that blue Silkie chick who had early spur buds and was always outgoing, first to the food and just seemed "rooish"... he gave an awkward little crow today at 11 weeks!
That's the fellow peeking out, a few weeks ago. I just knew it was a cockerel. Do you ever "just know"? Is 3 1/2 months about right on target for a Silkie boy to crow?

Hello everyone!

I am fairly new to this site, and new to raising silkies! I have a rooster, hen, and 2 day old chick. I was wondering if all you experts can tell me the colours of them, and do you know what colour the chick will grow up to be? My hen and rooster don't look like the rest of the silkies on this page. Every peice of info would be appreciated! -Madison ps: the baby is a yellow colour, with darker brown colouring on his back and head.
