I am currently have a hard time my favorite sweet girl bear died in a nesting box last week!
she was on a that I am hoping was hers I put it under a broody hen! God I hope it was hers! I have never hatched a egg but I am desperate and my friend said black should be dominate over blue! I candled the egg yesterday and it on track and moving!

So he is blue. The chick will have a 50% chance to be blue. It's just how the gene works.

I really hope the egg hatches and gives you the color you want

I feel like a crazy person wanting black! I have one of every color silkie but beige!! now I don't have black! my breeder friend I got him from said he should tromp any rooster I get because he is show quality! so is he the one or two?

I don't know I don't know if you remember I got her right before winter and she was really shy! when I text my friend she said 5ish!! I think she was depressed after the attack at my friends and only ever connected to me and my daughter! The egg is doing great even moving around with moo and bunny they are always broody that's why why I think the bears because all my other silkies are broody! They will take any baby!! Its a two mom type of relationship!!

Bantams weigh a couple of pounds at the most and stand less than a foot tall(not exact measurements just good guesses). if you have a standard you will know

Yes standard sized silkies are the same size as other standard chickens

Just had a very successful hatch out of my flock. Have some whites, silver whites, blues, and partridge. Some are by far the fluffiest chicks I have gotten so I'm gonna grow out this batch to see how they mature.

Here is my dilemma what color is she??? she looks like a blue chicken that got white and red high lights and her roots are growing out! Someone please help!!!
