I'm thinking that's just for the barred gene not the cuckoo gene,View attachment 1308396
I read that a cuckoo silkies gender can be identified by the spot in the back of the head. If so what do you think? I think it’s really big and is a boy.
Sound infertileGuys this is day 24 of egg incubation for Silkie chicks. The temp has been a straight 99.5, and the humidity was always different. This is my first time hatching eggs, and so I need some help please!!! There is only 1 that I think may hatch, but I don’t know if I should assist hatching or what!?!?!?!? Please help me....
Also, I cracked open 2 of the eggs and there was nothing but yolk.
So does that mean that the sex can’t be identified yet?I'm thinking that's just for the barred gene not the cuckoo gene,
For the most part yes, sometimes depending on the coloring of the parents you can.So does that mean that the sex can’t be identified yet?
light partridge?I am puzzled on the color of my silkie chick. Has anyone seen this pattern?

I wish!!!If anyone in NY is interested I have a few beautiful silkies chicks left. Hatched 1/18/19, weaned off heat and doing well outside. These babies are friendly and eating out of my hand. Picture of adults are my flock I hatched from. I’m in Harrisville. Sorry I don’t ship. Asking $15 each but open to reasonable offers.
