Silkie thread!

I have two hens, one's a Silkie and the other is a bantam cochin. Neither of them are broody. The Silkie makes a big fuss, cackles, squawks, builds a nest for herself and sits in it for hours. Then when she lays - she gets up and walks away.

I thought it was just my crazy Silkies that spend most of their day preparing to lay an egg.

The rule with eggs is warm them back up and wait. They might be just fine

Yup. They're all in the incubator now. I'm going to give it a few more days to see if they're developing embryos. I know it can take up to 10 days to see signs of development.

If these eggs aren't fertile I'll try hatching some quail eggs and then see if Mr Roo is doing his job yet.

Give two more days. They may still hatch. If they don't then take one out crack it and find out why it might not have hatched. Or candle it see if there is a blood ring.and how.big the air pocket is.
I cracked two infertile eggs open... I know it was a bad mistake, but it was hard not to. I only have one that may hatch, but idk after I opened the incubator while on lockdown

Guys this is day 24 of egg incubation for Silkie chicks. The temp has been a straight 99.5, and the humidity was always different. This is my first time hatching eggs, and so I need some help please!!! There is only 1 that I think may hatch, but I don’t know if I should assist hatching or what!?!?!?!? Please help me....
Also, I cracked open 2 of the eggs and there was nothing but yolk.
