Do you not keep b/b? I like the whites but gave them up because I needed the extra coop/run for the showgirls I am getting. I like your splash roo by the way, and since you are replacing him just bring him to my house when the new boy gets here. That way the year after next I can beat you with his babies. What show do you enter them in? Is anyone going to the Cookville show Oct. 2nd?

Since you all have Silkies, I thought I'd try to post this here. I'm going to be introducing two 6 month old Silkie pullets to my 12 almost 4 month old Silkies (don't know the sex of them yet). I'd love to hear what your experiences have been with introducing new Silkies to your existing Silkie flock. Thanks!

I have lots of silkies of different ages altogether. Silkies don't pick on each other as much as other breeds do. I think yours will be fine. Just watch them for a little bit.

I do have a lot of babies that I will take to a show to sale, but for now just keeping them all to see what I'm breeding. This is my first year and I'm taking it slow. I don't have any blacks and only two blues of age. Only been to one show. I'm not to sure I could do a show but I didn't think I could hatch eggs eather. My splash rooster Mr. Cooper's father is Kaminari and Bobbi thinks I should keep him. Looking at one of my stalls real hard to make a new coop. I seem to over think everything. I have over 100 chickens now. Chicken math is not X it is more to the 100th power when you have 3 incubators and can not stop putting them in.

I want to keep them all but that is not going to work at some point. DH keeps saying "Your going to sale them right?" I look away and say "Sure Baby sure" so I know I have to do it.

Are you going to the show in Cookville next weekend? I may try to rehome the b/b babies I got from Mary Robbins because 2 (Just saw the other one today) have gold in the hackles. I am not to happy about it but what can I do. I really do not want my b/b to have partridge in them and if these will throw partridge they will have to go. I wonder if Mary knows she is throwing partridge? I saw her coop and they are very nice and seperated and I did not see a partridge at her place so she may not even know. I still have 2 that are solid black. Maybe I will keep them to see what they throw. I hope to see you at the show I am going with my friend who show OE's just to look around and maybe pick up some new silkies. Maybe we can run into each other while we are there.

This is your first year and you have 3 bators and 100 chickens and you call that taking it slow. OK if you say so. I have 3 coops and only 15 chickens. So see I have a problem I need more chickens to fill up these coops. haha

cookville show, i am in, a chance at two m0re blue ribbons would be nice.

I have a question about Partridge Silkies. For them to be shown are there any specific standards to their coloring? I have two hens and a roo close to the same color and a couple that are quiet abit differant. Here are a couple pics to show you all the differance.

I have Two hens and a roo this coloration.

And I just this lonely girl of this smoke color. I keep debating on adding her to my Sizzle flock.
