I'm so glad i have a back up hen. who is on the eggs.
But there might be a few chicks under her.
I currently have 3 inside with a hen.

No one???????

You can put any colors together that you want to. It just depends on what you want. I have a splash roo and had him with white hens and got all blue chicks. I'm not a genetic guru but you might be able to put a partridge hen with the blue roo and get blue partridge. Other than that little bit I know, put some colors together and see what happens.

Okay, new question. Someone brought up that I might get mixed chicks with a Black hen and a Blue rooster?? (then I potentially couldnt show either?) I guess I was thinking I'd either get blue or black. Does anyone know what might happen (colors) with a Black hen and Blue roo? Thanks!

Black bred to blue gives you half black and half blue. Both are perfectly showable. Many people breed their blues, blacks, and splashes together.

okay, thanks! I told someone else this idea and they suggested it might not work. I wasn't sure.

well its not going to be quite as big, more like silkie size, lol but big enough for them all to have there own space, can;t wait to get started on it, I will take pics as it progresses if you like.

I need to make my coop bigger but I havent got the backyard space sadly.

Me and my husband got lucky when we found our house last year, it was forclosed on and needed some repair work but it was on 5 acres, so we got a great deal! We eventually want to have several coops to keep all of our breeds seperate! We are far from that right now though, lol.
