Silkie thread!

Can anyone tell me what color my rooster is, the guy I bought him from said Calico but I have never heard of one being that color and can't find any pictures of any other ones, please help?!? He has too much red to be Buff I think.

Looks buff to me, buffs come in all shades of red. I don't see any black color in the tail and that is very good but I can't see the side of the chicken. she looks very good from here. She could use some buff colored feathers on the feet and more feathers on her feet as well, still a nice chicken.

wow, he looks to be splash in the tail and feet and buff everywhere else... I dont think its a calico, though. If I had to call it something, it would be buff with not enough color thruout.

I have a white roo and hen about the same age. He is starting to mount the black sexlink but not the white silkie or the buff orp. I was wondering when I could set those eggs and what would they be? I imagine either really cute or like a bad science experiment gone awry. The white silkie hen and buff orp are not laying yet so I assume he knows its not time for him to do his job.

The guy I bought him from called him a blue calico. He has been raising chickens his whole life and is who we have bought almost all our chickens from so I took his word. So should I not breed with him?

YA both of the white hen are laying & he is going crazy! But he tried to mount my blue pullet the day we introduced her to the flock, he hasn't done it since though so I guess he has figured out it's no use. lol...

He won't mount my black australorps or EE's but I think that's because they are so much bigger than him.

Should be fertile about 6 months or earlier. Some are late bloomers though.
