Haha Right! I played that game a LONG time before I even knew what Silkies were and kept telling my husband I wanted to raise baby chocobos... Guess I got my wish XD
Perhaps Chocobos are based loosely on silkies? I figure its a possibility due to both being linked with Asian culture. (Just my theory)

Now if you could just get a hen saddle that looks like those saddles...You could answer the doors with them at Halloween...the kids would go crazy...

Total newbie question here...

From looking at all the gorgeous Silkie pics on this thread I'm confused. It seems some females don't show a developed comb, yet others look like they have combs similar to the roos. Are the pics without the fully developed walnut combs pullets? Do they all eventually get the bigger combs? Unfortunately I can't add anymore chicks to my flock, (I'm already breaking the law with 1 extra...shhhh) but my daughter is hoping to raise Silkie's soon and we were curious about the comb variations in the pictures.

The guy I bought him from called him a blue calico. He has been raising chickens his whole life and is who we have bought almost all our chickens from so I took his word. So should I not breed with him?

depends what your breeding goal is I would think. Im not a calico expert or a genetics expert by any means, but Im not seeing blue calico, maybe a more knowledgeable person on this thread can answer that. As far as breeding, if it were me, I would try it and see what happens. You might get some buffs from him.
