If it wasn't dark I would go get some pictures of some of mine. silkies are so cute.

OMG! My 11 yo son talked me in to getting 4 babies and I can't stand how cute they are. I'm praying his favorite is a girl. In a few more weeks I'll be asking opinions as to sex. In the mean time....another baby pic. Look at those leg feathers! (the 'white' one @ 4 weeks)

I'm in "CUTE OVERLOAD" !!!!!!! My heart goes pitter patter when I see all those buffs together! I'm about to pick up 6 buff babies this week and my broody hen is sitting on 7 buff eggs. Someway, somehow, I'm gonna have a herd of buffs!!!!! HA!

Well, I don't know a ton about silkies and we are still learning only because our 5 year old daughter picked them to show.....

We haven’t been paying much attention to them because we just don’t know much about them, but my daughter is really into her silkies and she collects the eggs every day. If they don’t get scrambled from the barn to the house they usually hatch. We bought her a trio of whites from Donna McCormick last year...she is very good to the Jrs by the way.....
We only kept 3 chicks to grow out because we have so many other chickens…… she showed a white silkie pullet she hatched this spring and she won Grand Champion of the JR. show, Feather leg, and best Bantam at the Green River Poultry show. Big shock to us since the shows around KY are full of game bantams that usually win and we really didn’t know she was that good. She was very excited to get 2 trophies and my 13 year old son was a little embarrassed because he never got any higher than JR. Champion Waterfowl.
There is no telling how many great silkie chicks I sold for $5 this year just to get them out of here…..LOL

here is a picture of her winning bird. We are also going to Lebanon IN, Bluegrass KY, and Columbus OH this year so we will see how it goes.
