I did not know that they slept on the floor...wow...tonight is the first night without the heat on out in the small coop.

My 4 silkies are out there all piled in a corner IN FRONT of the open coop door ? (it has a small run attatched and all is VERY secure and hard wired all around, over and under) with my 5 ameraucana 7 week olds...the silkies are about 2-3 months old...they looked all snug but are sort of in the open part of the coop and not tucked up in the snug warm part?

do the nest boxes for silkies have to be on the ground as well?

I've seen people call them a grey but, I honestly don't know if that is the proper name

Maybe someone with experience with this color will see it and chime in
