Silkie thread!

So the humidity seems to be right on, on the built in 1588 model. but my temps are a degree off and making me wonder if my them is off.. how do I tell which one is correct?

Your Silkies are just beautiful! I just received my first Silkie chicks a couple of weeks ago. Three of them are 8 weeks old and 2 are 6 weeks old. Hope they grow up to be as gorgeous. :)
Congratulation on your new chicks. Pics please?

Here are some pics of my new babies. I'm completely infatuated with them. I built their coop/run from recycled materials; designed it after the pictures and suggestions here on BYC.

That's interesting. In my 1588 model, the temp is perfectly calibrated to my reptile thermometer/hygrometer but the humidity reading on the Genesis is ten percent off.

I use a digital probe thermometer and the reptile one in different corners of the bator to check for hot and cold spots. They are first calibrated to my room thermostat. The Genesis temp goes up and down very slightly with flucuations in my room temp such as when a door is opened. I don't think it's anything to worry about.

Love them!
Here is what the bottom of the egg is looking like- and there is also an air cell at the top... This one was doing really well, but now looks different. This is day 17.
I'm sorry but this is not normal...
So cute!

Okay thanks! :)

Hah! My husband asked me tonight, " You do know we have a budget when we go, right?" I told him, "I'm taking more than one pet carrier if that's what your talking about." It's going to be like looking at a barn full of adorable puppies and I will want all of them but must only choose a couple. *Gah!* A delicious dilemma.

Well my DH is still furiouse I came home with those 5 little silkies and 1 polish. He's been fussing about the amount of time I'm on the internet. I'm to the point of waging war... (wify kind... During his tv time I'm not going to read about chickens on the internet and bug the crap out of him to talk and entertain me.) I paid $36.50 for 6 little chicks plus the $11 for the two I went after. They are just feed store chicks, but I don't think its that much after looking at prices on here and craigslist plus I didn't have to pay shipping. I already have a 50 lb bag of chick food. I bought for 2 chicks that were given to me. GRRRRRR.... Between he and 2 kids I don't watch TV. Anyone care to tell me the problem with My internet time. My house is clean, I go to work on time....

Thanks for the vent... I don't think I will kill him. ...just burn his diner. lol
