Quote: not as bad as my white poodle, he liked to roll in big ole piles of cow dung, yuk phew. chained to the swing set finally and hosed him off..where do dogs get this from?

They did fine, no one targeted them. They just hung out as a pair. I did have to coop them as they only made it to the pallet that is the step to the pop door. I put them in the corner of the coop where they won't get pooped on. I will be out there when I put my LF rooster back in with everyone on Monday. I don't think he will bother them though. They have had through the fence contact for a month now, so they recognize each other.
I am glad to hear they are doing fine. I am always scared for my silkies since one of mine was badly pecked on the head and unfortunately never recovered. Since the incident, I have never let them free range and fortunately they seem to be fine.

One of my silkie is broody which is perfect timing! I gave her 7 eggs from my other silkies she and seems to be content. It's my first time using a broody to hatch my eggs. I tried to separate her from her roommates (rooster included), but she got really mad and refused to sit on the eggs. I finally put her back in the coop and she settled down. I think I will leave her with the rest of the flock until the chicks hatch and by then hopefully she will be ok to go in my emergency coop. If she doesn't, is it dangerous to leave the chicks with the other hens and especially the rooster?
