Where did you order them from?
Good questions, not sure when to let them out with the rest of the flock.
some flocks can be kept with all ages but most of the time it is safer to keep babies seperate for safety. usually hens will go broody in pairs and become good buddy and raise their babies together but you have to watch out for aggresion and jealousy. keep relatively similar sized chicks together up until......3 or 4 ish months old...? and hens will let you know when she is ready to let the babies go when she lays another egg
Excellent info, thanks a lot!I have had good results using egg shells. I bake them in the oven for a bit, crush them up, and offer them as a free feed next to the grit. I think all the chicks appreciate being able to regulate their own calcium.
Actually, he's regulating it! I can never get it to 102 without going way over, it's been staying at 99-101. When he is on top it goes to exactly 102 and keeps the humidity where it should lol!Cute, but could the cat cause a temp spike with the extra heat?

Duct tape him there then. Hahaha(JK)
If it hatched last thursday it may be too late, but that is spraddle leg. You can try taping the legs together so he stands upright. If you search splay leg or spraddle leg in chicks you will find numerous different treatments. But be warned, it may not work and you will either have to cull or keep them as house chickens (which I prefer lol!)
Thanks PF, hope its not too late, I already taped their legs,.. fingers crossed! wait... not theirs but mine... lol! Is there something I should do to avoid this?
