They were a result of two partridge parents. I don't know what happened but they are very pretty in 3D

Hi All! I took a few days off from BYC and whew! Anyhow, you all have some great stories and posts. Marbles is starting to get big! Here are some iPhone photos to update you all... I love her!

I just got 3 chicks and would like to know more about them. I had chickens when I was younger, around 7 or something.... just standard chickens, hahaha I guess. I was told I bought Bantam Silkie Chicks, they were all mixed together...just left overs maybe. They couldn't tell me what they would look like or temperament. I was told they carried only certain breed... they showed me a picture on a chart, of what one may look like.

I am hoping I could get some help, figuring out what they will look like! Clearly I found the right spot to ask!

Please help, if you are able, I would greatly appreciate it!

In the pic directly above, the one on the left is a mille fleur d'uccle. The one in the middle may be as well...not sure about the one on the right. D'uccle are awesome little birds.

I just heard in another silkie thread that someone suspected their chick to be a roo because he talks a lot and is fearless..... How true is this? Marbles is CONSTANTLY chatting. Its really cute. Especially when her head is in the food bowl. Which is almost all the time lol!

Not silkies but they sure are cute! Especially the third one down. Sleepy baby.

What do you have for an incubator? I recently bought my first and it came with very clear instructions on what to do. Helped me get started.

Hey, did you take the plunge and contact Karen for Silkies yet?

No I'm still on the fence about that one, if I get eggs I could end up with many more chicks than I want. So still see sawing.

So has anyone heard their birds make this noise? This is Ice, she makes this noise a lot. It's VERY annoying! does it mean something in particular?

My Phoenix does it all the time- it's her normal voice. She sounds like a velociraptor (spell?) You should hear her hunting for mice! She's awesome.
