This is one of my silkies. Mine are all white.

My red pullet gang. Anyone know what they are? LOL. The buff color ones are buff and light reddish. The brown have brown with another shade or two of brown on them, lol.

the lighter one looks like a red sex link variety. not sure on the others.

I'm getting a new pair of silkies today!! I have to meet her at 10:30 i'm extactic! Here's pics she sent. then I went yesterday to check again to make sure when the silkie babies are coming in at my local feed store (they are so going to know me by name)

and they are coming in later today or possibly early tomorrow instead of Saturday. so I am two for two woot woot.

That chick didn't have a vaulted skull. If it had a parent with a crest, it will get a small crest - but it was not a pure chick. The legs were yellow.

Your polish x houdan mixes do have vaulted skulls.. well at least a few of them did.

Thank you for making this point!!! It makes me crazy... Splash has to have two blue genes.. there is no black splash!!! and blue splash is just "splash" It makes thing so confusing to people to use all these different terms. I

I'm just learning about this whole splash thing myself. But even the SOP tells you what color they're supposed to be and it's the same for all breeds.

i just got another silkie egg today from my newer hen and her mate so far i have 6 of her eggs and then i finally got a egg from my silkie she is a year old and her mate is a year old i had them since they were 4 weeks old and now i got her first egg but im not sure if her mate is mating her or not i hope so .. she is a black silkie and her mate is a grey i think i have a pic of him if you guys want to see them

You could always crack open the egg and check for a bullseye =)

hey guys any ideas on the sex of this silkie right here












he/she is 12.5 weeks old and i have one rooster for sure and one for sure hen and this one is driving me nuts because i cant tell the sex

i don't want to do that because i think she was laying before not to many eggs came out of her and then she stopped for a long time so i want to make sure i have an egg .. if i get another one from her tomorrow then i know she is laying then i might and let you guys know .. do you want to see my little hen and her mate ? im not sure if their good quality or not but i still like them no matter what
