Chicks are so funny. They find the funniest places for naps. I guess all baby animals do the same... Even kids!oh my goodness this is adorableI have a little silkie chick that does the exact same thing! she LOVES napping in the food dish!![]()
Very hard to tell at 6.5 weeks. They could both be pullets, they could both be cockerels, or you could have one of each. Time will tell.Hello everyone! This is my pair of 6.5 week old white silkies... I suspect I have a pair or maybe two pullets..
Here are a few pictures of the two as a pair:
I think the one on the left is a pullet and the one on the right a cockerel
left pullet right cockerel?
left pullet right cockerel:

That should be "No matter what?" with a question mark. I'm asking.
I'm brand new to chickens, so I'm still learning. But I have heard people say black splash and/or blue splash, just not any other color. Can you get red splash? Or any other color?
Yes two blacks and what appears to be just a regular blue.Aoxa - So then what you're saying is that splash is blue. No matter what. I guess I'm thinking that splash would be like the broken colors in rabbits. A broken black is black & white, a broken chocolate is chocolate & white, broken red, broken opal... Or like for hamsters a mottled blue is blue & white, So what you're saying is it isn't white mixed with another color? Guess that's how I was thinking. But - at any rate - here are pics of my bantam Cochins that I picked up on Saturday. 2 black splash, 1 blue splash. Just so you know what I'm talking about. To me, that isn't lighter & darker shades of blue, the 2 on the right are clearly black. Know what I mean?

Thank you!!!Splash results from a Blue to Blue mating. Such a mating also produces Blacks. Splash can vary greatly in appearance with some showing quite a bit of colour & others appearing almost white. There is just one splash, no Blue Splash, no Black Splash, just Splash.
