Silkie thread!

Hi everybody! I was hoping you could help me identify a chickie color. :)

He has a yellow head, chipmonk pattern, and blue body. Will he be a grey like a silver partridge color?

I also picked out a deep chocolatey partridge colored one and a regular partridge, as well as a bearded white and reds/buffs. So excited for his batch of babies to grow up to join my others!

He is adorable Tina!!! Nice color
Thank you Sherry!
I was so happy to find a silkie when I went to my local feed store. It was so fluffy and cute when it was a baby. I thought all silkies looked the same, except for different colors. Now I know different since reading this thread and looking thru BYC. I realize now that my baby is just a hatchery chick and wont get as fluffy as most of the ones on here. I was really hoping for a big ball of fluff but I do love my little baby. I told my hubby that it just means that I def have to get more later. ;) It's baby pic is my avatar. Here is my Mumble at almost 9wks old.
Your chick will probably turn out very sweet. Definitely think about getting 2 more companions for this one to snuggle and sleep with.

I'm hoping she/he fluffs out more. But I am def wanting more anyways. I'm in love.

Lol. My daughters love his little poofy tail. I gotta get him some playmates cause he is still in brooder with my 2 gold comets and 1 black Australorp.
My first silkies were not great quality. I got them from our County Fair. Didnt matter one bit at the time. I loved them and after not having chickens for a lot of years I went looking for Silkies again. This time I knew more but I dont love mine anymore than I did these first ones

I got all my chicks at our local TSC... the "mixed run bantams" ended up being white silkies... all with 5 toes... some fluffier than others...

The "red" pullets, are red/buff in color... and 8 are dark chocolate brown... trying to figure out what the brown actually are... LOL

Ok, so to add to the inbreeding question... The chick that hatched out in my friend's incubator, I went to visit it last night and the beak and feet were pink/yellow can't remember the color exactly LOL! But, they weren't black. I was surprised. Both of the mom and dad have black feet and beaks.

Here are mom and dad.

If you get silkie chicks from the feed store/hatchery, the only close to decent is the whites. They don't seem too bad :)
