Silkie thread!

I went back 20 pages and could not find any post by you, that was 5 days worth of posts. Some of us do just skim, I do if I have fallen behind.
I spent a half hour looking for that post and gave up. If I miss a couple days checking in here it becomes nearly impossible to keep up with every post. I try to answer questions if it's something I know about. It is good to post the question more than once if it seems it was overlooked in the swarm of daily postings.

Thanks guys. How odd is it that I picked all pullets. I have one more in the brooder box a friend hatched. I'm hoping it is a frizzle. It is a mix of browns, but doesn't have the chipmunk stripes. I assume it will be some type of partridge. before someone said #2 was a blue partridge. it has blue under fluff under all that gold. I don't think many people like this color, but its my favorite. I'm getting some white in a week or so. I had a set of blue, but a little girl talked me out of them. lol probably my roos. I would like to get some splash some time I think they are pretty too.

Sorry for your lose of the beautiful roo.

I'm devastated. Something just took my favorite Silkie, Bubbles. - probably a raccoon or cat. He was there when I checked on the flock late this afternoon. When I went to put them up for the night he was gone. My DH found a clump of his feathers where whatever it was pulled him under the house. I'm so upset!!! :hit :hit :hit :hit :hit :hit :hit :hit :hit :hit :hit :hit :hit :hit :hit :hit :hit :hit :hit :hit :hit I know this is part of owning chickens but it's my first predator incident and I don't like it one bit! Here are a couple of picture I took last week. He was almost 6 months old; a Bobbie Porto baby. He would follow me around in the back yard especially when I was working in the gardens. Knew I was likely to dig up some treats for him.
So sorry, he was so pretty. :( you should try and trap what got him it will be back.

Lost two to predators before I built them an enclosed exercise pen, then lost one to possibly ecological. I may never know, it nevergetsany easier!
