Could be a girl. I'm not very familiar with the non-bearded silkies.
They're still too young to tell gender but they're very cute.
That one looks like it's been partying a little too much.
So what happens when you breed a white silkie with a black silke.
You can also order frizzles from hatcheriesI don't know... not from what i've read. How would you know if you have a pure bred frizzle? I'm getting another from my friend who has frizzles but they are from a mixed frizzle boy and regular mixed hens. From what I understand "frizzles" speak more for the mutant gene that makes the feathers curl rather than one exact breed. Here's one article showing it: http://www.backyardpoultrymag.com/5-5/frizzles_one_of_our_odd_breeds/

My frizzled Cochin hen hatched out a cute little Silkie chick yesterday! Its parents are the hen in my avatar and a smutty buff rooster. He's got terrible color, but has good type I think. He's so round he looks like a little basketball.
Anyway, Curly Sue is doing a great job taking care of her chick, hopefully she keeps it up bc its the only one that hatched :/
I can't wait to see how it feathers out though, should be interesting! Its mostly buff, but its got light brown chipmunk markings on its back![]()
Wouldn't 1, 3 and 4 have feathers curling if they were frizzled? 1 and 3 are probably still too young, but what about 4? At what age do the feathers start to curl up?
Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do.
