I think it makes their crest look fuller. They look beautiful when they do. Is it a bad thing?
Isn't this hen vaulted?

Gave her a bath a few weeks ago, non vaulted.... and this is trimmed up

you would have to feel under her crest to tell. Vaulted ha nothing to do with the crest, but with the head. Let me see if I can find a picture of my roo's head wet. He has a vaulted skull. my non-vaulted female and deceased hen, really no difference in crest

She looked like your rooster when I bathed her yesterday. The color white sure does get messy quick though.

Beautiful! Mine still has a lot if pin feathers in her crest and tail! That must mean she is going to get really poofy!! LOL

Really?? I thought two vaults would make only vaults. I guess if one parent was non vaulted before the two vaulted ones produced offspring I guess it would be possible.

It varies, right now i have a couple 5 month olds that look about the same size as my adults but not as filled out. That 2 month old age seems like it takes forever to get past and then all of a sudden they look like Silkies

And yeah, I do love 'em all just the same, but of course I already have my favorites! It'll be hard to downsize once I find out the sex!

Maybe I'll get a Catdance silkie some day! I do really want a splash...
