Silkie thread!

I have a baby that had a greenish hue too! I call her my little green head. I think she is going to be gray. I have pictures of her posted in the Silkies of a Different Color thread. I love her bunches and she is my favorite baby right now.

She is in the back here so a little out of focus but you can see the greenish hue

And here she is in between a lighter and a dark blue
WOW!!!! how old is she now?

Finally got a silkie! I'm worried she will feel left out since I only have one. Is this going to be ok? I don't have room for any more birds right now or I would get just one more  my others are Cochins and a BO. All very docile. Any input? Thanks Kristi
Happy birthday to me! Snow's neck looks better, Coco and Chanel look 100% snot free, and Ice has started laying!

Too bad the little brat hid the egg on me, but I can tell because of the size of her vent.
Happy Birthday! Hope you fine the egg!

Hi! I've already asked this in the lavender silkie thread, but go no response! I have a three week old silkie bantam named smudge who was sold to me as a self blue. However smudge is looking pretty white up against my other three self blue chicks (bought from the same place at the same time). I'm not picky about colouring and wouldn't actually mind if smudge is a white, however I'd like to know what my birds colouring is.

Any opinions on if smudge is a white or a self blue? Thanks for any feed back!
Looks White to me. The self-blue stay that soft gray throughout their feather molts - I haven't ever heard of one feathering in White.

I am so glad Snow's neck looks better, Coco and Chanel responded to the treatment and Ice didn't turn into a boy but instead gave you an egg! Now for the Easter Egg Hunt!

Going to incubate it?

Here's a picture of one of my blues from a blue x blue cross that turned white (silver gene) and some young self-blues. They can look very white as chicks. You may not know for a while.

Look what I picked up yesterday. I know I have a blue and a partridge, but can anyone tell me what color the other will be?

How could I resist this one all that fluff.

This one is a black??? Frizzle it is about 2 weeks old. but looks like it has some brown coming in on its wings.

This one came out of the Silkie coop she saw a blue hen lay it, but I don't know what is going on with it. Other than a blue, white and a partridge frizzle roo in that coop she only has a Barred Rock and a Rhode Island Red roos. To me it looks like its getting some type of lacing. Its a mystery chick...

is it normal for silkies to lay white eggs? the ones I've gotten are always tan-ish. but my 1 year old silkie hen just started laying 2 days ago (my first egg eeeee!) and it was white. then this morning I check again and same spot another white egg.
