Silkie thread!

I'm seriously thinking of taking these back.. I just want one so bad and I can't afford to drive out of state to just get one or two silkies.
Is it true that their feathers will turn out and some won't? Or was she just trying to sell me her sizzle

Silkie feathers will NOT turn/curl. I think this woman is trying to sell you anything she can. She can see that you're uncertain of what to look for and she's taking advantage of that. Take the chicks back and just keep looking. Something better will come along eventually. Don't be in a rush!

Can you show a sizzle hen? Is that a recognized breed?

I don't think Sizzle is a breed but I'm pretty sure you can show them under Silkies.

Well I ended up getting 3 I will post pictures.
This is the one I'm guessing is white. It doesn't have very good feet feathers at all.. And it's beak is tanish

I'm guessing this one is gray and has better feet feathering

And this one is darker gray but its wings are starting to flair out, thinking it might be a sizzle? Any input? It has really good feet feathering

I'm actually upset that most of the chicks she has had tan beaks and flaired out wings and she said that was normal but there were only a few that didnt have flaired out wings. I am very confused. Especially when there was a frizzle in the grown up pin with the other silkies...

My splash started out with a light beak like your chick. Its dark now
And my Sizzles have much more curl to their feathers. Those look like normal Silkies to me...

Well... i'm HOPING Ice is going Broody, would be a better explanation to why she keeps laying down

She's alert, eating and will walk around, but when standing she will lay down... I know she's been laying, but can't for the life of me find the eggs! So I just gave her some plastic eggs to see what she does. If she broods them I will get her some duck eggs.

Sizzles are adorable too. Even if the last chick is a sizzle...keep it. So cute! Just my opinion

That's just a regular frizzle. Sizzles are silkies with the frizzled gene making their silkie feathers turn out wards.

There is no such thing as a "Frizzle" breed, or a "Regular Frizzle" - it is a gene for the feathers. There are Frizzled Silkies - which is what you are calling Sizzles, there are Frizzled Cochins, Frizzled Polish, etc.... The only ones I have heard correctly called Sizzles are the Cochin x Silkie mix, and they are working on getting it to be a breed. It does not have the silkied feathers, as shown in the picture above. Hers has light skin - not black. Mine has dark black skin. I don't know which one they are going to choose on that.

Actually she does have black/blue skin =) 5 toes, blue ears, some sort of mixed walnut comb though and no crest.
