Silkie thread!

You cannot feather sex all breeds. The trait has to be bred into them, and it is common in some breeds, but not in others. It is not commonly present in silkies.
Oh ok :) thank you for telling me that. Now i'll have to make sure I don't use this method on birds that it doesn't work with LOL.

I am curious about the sex of my chick. Its around 3 months old. I have little experience and would like to get some more experienced opinions. When I free range, it wonders off alone, alot. And seems to stand taller, like my grown roo. My guess was a boy. Thanks for any help!

From what you described - sounds like a boy. I can't tell by pictures.. but the attitude says "boy" to me.

The really good news is - she won't lick it off. One taste and she won't ever go back!

Somebody else tried it for getting rid of fleas (it does also get rid of mites/lice (like those crest mites).. and it seemed to work for that too.
Good to know. Thanks!

3 months??? Are you sure? It does not look 3 months to me, maybe 2? Hard to tell, but the comb looks very girly from what I can see. Is it a mix? It's crest looks funky lol! So I can't tell from the crest the gender. Looks like a fauxhawk LOL!

Is this baby showing cuckoo colors? It hatched with partridge markings
Looks like a grey to me. Not cuckoo

HELP NEEDED......Phyllis Diller, my 11-week old bantam Polish hen is very lethargic and won't eat this morning. I just separated her from the rest of the flock so I don't know how her droppings look yet. Her crop is empty. No physical signs of injury or illness. Checked for lice, mites - she's clean. What should I do? I know she's not a silkie but everyone is so knowledgeable here I thought you could help.
