Has anyone hatched out a silkie with white skin on just the tips of its toes ?? One of my eggs I bought off ebay just hatched it has really black skin except for that ??

An upright posture does not have anything to do with if it will be a good showbird. It MAY mean it is a rooster, but it isn't 100%. Showbirds are trained how to stand for a show. Your bird will have to fit the standard of perfection in every aspect to be a good showbird.

Yes it should darken up within a week. If not it is a default for showing.

This baby boy has all white skin and the usually 5 toes.

She's beautiful, she looks to be a regular feathered silkie or a Cochin bantam silkie mix.

Thanks, Her mom was a (penciled Wyandotte mix with white silkie) and dad was a black silkie. She is a smooth sizzle i believe

Upright posture = show bird

Actually, upright posture is undesirable. You want them to come at you low in the front and higher in the tail. And, in my opinion, their posture as chicks doesn't have anything to do with their gender. If you're trying to weed some chicks out as early as possible, keep the ones that have 5 toes on each foot with good spacing on the extras, well feathered legs and proper combs. Good luck
