Silkie thread!

Hi all, I was wondering if you might help me sex my silkies. They are twelve weeks old so I'm hoping they're old enough to tell. None of them have any wattle development yet, so perhaps I have four pullets. There is one blue I'm iffy on. Any help is appreciated!

My little favorite, the splash:

And just for fun, my little favorite looking for good stuff to eat:

And this really cracked me up. My silkies just went out, and here's my blue marans pullet trying to figure out what the heck they are:

Bearded silkies shouldn't have wattles at all, or only very small ones, so that is no help. They are really too young to tell for sure.

How do you tell the difference between blue and black chicks?

this new chick does look a little darker than the other one, but i'm not sure what the true color is. Plus, any idea why it has white fuzz on its toes??

Tried it. :/ splash broody will get off her nest and chase me around the yard clucking continuously til I return them to her nest. She has pulled feathers from my white one just because it. Ugh its like my splash can count eggs. :(

Wait for them to hatch, and sneak 2 out and pop them under the other hen. Meanwhile give her a few dummy eggs to keep her interested. My 2 x partridge hens were battling over 3 eggs. When the dust settled I gave 1 to the lower ranked hen. Now 2 weeks later, they all live happily together, sharing. My little roo loves kids, he's right in there helping the mommas.

I have not had chickens in years and finally moved back to the country this summer. A friend had a surprise hatch of 10 silkie chicks so now I am the proud mama of them all
