That is wonderful newsTo all who helped me, little Chance is walking! He is the black one closest to his mommas head. She isn't predjudice lol. None of them are actually her chicks. He still has his hobbles on until tomorrow since he is still wobbly.

Also, really enjoy the thread and am learning a lot. Thanks
So sorry that happened to you. The very first thing we did when we got our first chickens; was to let our dog know she couldn't touch them. All it took was 3 times of telling her to "be good" "don't hurt". I know we were fortunate that it was that easy for us, and is not usual.I lost one of my 2month old blue silkie chicks last night to internal dammage our 120 pound boxer male got into the chick/pullet pen killed one immediately, and ingured many including her. she was stepped on, sadly she was the smallest out of all the chicks and never recovered
Anywhere from day 18 onwards. I have my little Silkie on 10 large Wyandotte eggs. They make the best mums. No self respecting chicken keeper, should be without one or two or three...............![]()
I like the small ones. I wish I could have some Serama sized silkies.Wow! My Silkies are on the Very sm side. They can't sit on 10 Silky eggs, let alone 10 Standard eggs!
