Silkie thread!

This hen has raised 4 broods this year! She looked awful during some of them, but she is just finishing up a molt and is now looking more like her normal beautiful self. She's my dominant hen, and also my most 'spastic', who overreacts about everything. She's a great protective mother though, and is very 'curvy'

Is it time for them to hatch? Was the chick moving and peeping last night?

It does have a very little hole under some shell, should i pull that piece of shell off?

Yes it is still moving around in the shell trying to get out.

If it has a breathing hole on the inside membrane that's good, don't think you need to pull that piece of shell off. I would want to see some progress today, keep it under Moma hen and read over that link I gave you incase you need to help. I am no expert and hopefully someone else joins in to help. I'm getting ready and going to church will check in when I get back. I hope the little guy starts making some progress soon.

This little girl hatched 8 blue laced red Wyandotte . Before long they will be bigger than her but that won't bother her, she will love them anyway.

Very cute, Silkies are such great mommies.

The chick is hatching! There is blood all around her, and the inner membrane collapsed around her. She is sitting in the egg shell and absorbing I think. I do not see a yolk anywhere in there with her. She still still has not made any noise but she is breathing. Should I leave her?

If you can see blood don't interfere . Best to just " sit on your hands " for now.
