Silkie thread!

Advice needed!!!!
The first one hatched today and the girls started to attack it. Does that happen a lot? I thought silkies wouldn't do that because they are known for being such great moms. I don't know if they just got scared when it jump out of the egg so fast or what. It is inside with me now under a heat lamp. What else do I need to do? Do you think I can try to reintroduce it to the girls? And if not what kind of water container is best so it doesn't drown ?
Any advice would be so appreciated !!!
I am so sad I was hoping this was going to go better :(

Are all the girls broody or is it one hen in a coop with other hens? Most that are not broody will not accept babies. Try seperating the one sitting on the eggs, eggs and all, and put the baby under her tonight while she's sleeping.

It was the mommies that have been sitting on the eggs. I am afraid that if I do that they will just kill it.

Almost all my silkie hens are broody.
hmm... I found when my first time broody had her first baby hatch, she also pecked at it like she didn't want it. I put it under her and she settled down and was good after. But I would try it and keep an eye on them. As for the water you can put marbles or those decorative glass pebbles in the water dish so they can't drown.
