Silkie thread!

This was my post yesterday and as I said, thank you for your responses, they did put my mind at ease a little and I noted the one that said it is probably best they do not get wet before bed time.

That was yesterday, guess what happened today?!  We just had a huge storm go through, torrential rain and yep, Cilla did not take them into the coop but sheltered under some shade-cloth (not waterproof).  I donned the rain coat and crawled into a muddy run picking up soggy babies and mumma and putting them into the coop.  Thunder, lightening, torrential rain and useless rain coat; I reckon I would have been a very funny sight!  So mumma and bubbies have been dried as well as I could with a chamois and are tucked up in their dry coop on dry straw with probably 15 mins left before sleep time.  They are tucked up close to her and seem to be drying out.  They were shivering a little before I ran the chamois over them but not so much now.  It is 16C (60.8F) but out of the wind in the coop and cuddled up to mumma; so they should be OK you think?

If they were mine I would keep them until you are home to watch them when they are out.

I like the black and white, almost spots
They ARE spots LOL that is a paint silkie, they look like little dalmations, or cows

Hello I have 3 silkies but when I show them I can't get them to stay fluffy. I blew them dry like I was told, but they don't even stay fluffy till the next morning. How do you guys get your silkies ready for show?

You can wash them 2-3 days in advance, then keep them in super clean shavings to keep them clean. Some keep them in cages, but mine seem to break foot feathers. I don't know how to fluff the cushins (on the lower back). I wish I did! If you find out- please let me know!
