With all this rain my coop is standing in water again... At least it isn't cold and with the move it isn't mud. I put the pallets back in so they have something to stand on. I moved the Silkies to the kennels in the garage. They look like drowned rats. I did check and the downy feathers at their skin is dry.
This is seriously making me think about betting rid of the turkeys so the bantam could stay in the barn except e=when I want to breed them. Of course I keep waiting on a weekend with out rain so DH can build my Silkie coop and run. The D'uccle would be staying in this coop, but they fly and roost so the wet ground isn't as big a problem for them as some of my silkies want to sleep in a pile on the ground.
Yes Pam its the boys. I gave up getting them to sleep in the box with the girls. I went in every night and moved them for a week. I have them in a kennel in the garage. I have the boys seoer aged from the girls, but when they dry enough for me to tell them apart Im hoi.g to put the girls with Clyde and Mr Silver Britches.
I've been adding shavings to my outside run. It's probably kind of a waste of shavings, but it helps a little. Mine stays muddy longer under the tarps, sun doesn't beat straight down to dry it as fast as the rest of the pen. I probably know which ones are insisting on piling.![]()

Are Clyde and Mr. Silver Britches the ones that you got from me? How cute!![]()
