Silkie thread!

I'm suppose to be getting egs for pavs in the spring. Will see. My cresteds fell through so once spring nears I'll be trying again.

I will be going to Russia eventually and if all else fails I can buy them whilst there and send them home. However that's going to be a while. I was suppose to go next year but with everything else that came up its likely going to be pushed back yet another year.

Everything's been on hold for me after I was in a really bad car wreck in early fall. Still recovering and everything has been pushed back for months.

I have to remember to write to my pav supplier soon to make sure they still have them and haven't gone AWOL like the cresteds lol.

Feel free to PM me! I don't always respond fast but I always do!

I'm so sorry about your car accident. So sorry about the Crested postponement too. If u go to Russia, will u actually be able to send birds/eggs back to the USA? I thought there was a strict poultry policy for importing? and that it was very expensive to do? Greenfire had the Pavlovskaja listed on their arrival page but I don't see it anymore. Do they not have them?

I saw my 2 Partridge at day old at the breeder who hatched them in a 'bator. Both my babies looked chipmunky at day-old but maybe someone who actually breeds Silkies can answer u better than me.
I'm just gonna toss this out there. They may be parridge but will possibly have alot of gold on them. Usually partridge chicks aren't so buff looking. They actually have "chipmunk" like stripes on their backs

That's what I've always thought and why I'm so confused. I thought partridge always have that chipmunk look. Maybe they will still be buff? I'm selling most of these chicks. People ask what colors I have and I'm telling them, "well, I have some that might be either black or dark blue, some that might be partridge or buff, some that are probably going to be white..." It's crazy. So, are there any other colors that look sort of buff and greyish when young?

If I remember right this girl looked like that as a chick.

...I think. I was told she is a dark buff. To me she looks red.

On BYC there's a thread called Partridge Silkies - Nothing Else. Get on there & see what's covered. Apparently Partridge come in a variety of shades, colors, etc. I never knew that before I read it.

Yes. I will either get them out over the boarder or ship to Canada and have them bright back by my parents sense we are close to the boarder. Eggs may be easier but will see when we get down to it lol. I'm determined to get them one way or another even if it takes for ever haha!

HELP!! My 2 silkies just hatched last night around pm and they are not walking yet. They keep flopping around and one keeps getting stuck on his back and then has to kick around to get back on his belly. They look very uncoordinated and when they try to stand up they are resting on the bend on the back of their leg. Is this normal or is something wrong?
