I can access it from outside. Thats a good idea. It's screwed down right now. I need to put another latch on the box lid. We were worried about raccoons prying up the lid with only one latch so we just gather eggs from inside.I would suggest blocking off the opening with chicken wire so the babies and her will be safe from the rest of the flock. Can you access the box from the outdoors if so this idea will work. You will just have to give her water and food through the nesting box door. Or you could put hinges on the inside screen covering the nesting box and then when the other birds are outside you could open the screen and they could walk in the rest of the coop for some space
