i have 3 white silkie hens and 1 white silkie rooster. I want to get a black silkie. Would it be better to get a black rooster or a black hen .I want them to have nice splash chicks?

You can't get splash that way. Splash only happens in blue breedings.

Love that chart. I am wanting a splash. I have some silkies, and want to start breeding. I need to find charts like this! I want a white so bad..pretty sure I have a boy out there, but I want a hen..thinking this one is a cockerel. I have .. in his future...a paint, blues, and a couple of splash. I'm wondering if I would get a white from not just the white to blue..but also the Paint? I would think so. Maybe white to anything..but partridge? Guessing here, and thinking out loud..sort of. Really need to do some studying up on this.

I have a chick that was white, but now it has a couple sprigs of black in its feathers, one on top of its head and one to the side of her tail. Would this make her a splash? Could she possibly be lavendar?

So I have 3 partridge. 5 to go. Is partridge just a result of mixing colors? Because I seem to be getting a lot of them. Lol! I only have one partridge hen, everyone else is bbs or white.
