Silkie thread!

This is Miss Scarlett. Can anyone tell me how old she might be. I got her at an auction about 3 weeks ago. She lays almost everyday. I have her with her mate Rhett, and I was wondering if she looked old enough to have fertile eggs. I have been keeping them to put in the incubator this weekend. Any thoughts? This is her mate Rhett.
They will make lovely babies.

Your partridge hen must have been a busy girl. Can't wait to see how they grow out.
My partridge pullet's mom is white, so I have two partridge hens .... sort of

There are 4 partridge, 1 blue, and one 1 haven't seen yet..... probably partridge the way this hatch is going. My last hatch 4 months ago, I got all whites, from the same flock. I don't have a white roo, so I must have a dominant white girl in the mix somewhere. My first one in October of last year I had about every color there is. They must like keeping their colors together now or something. Silly girls.

If you weren't on the other side of the world, I'd send you some!

If I weren't on the other side of the pond , I'd be first in line.
My sneaky little partridge has a stash of at least a dozen eggs. We are heading into winter -1 c this morning so if worst comes to worst I'll bring her in to the brooder.

Are your two mating? That should say something right there!

If she is laying, check her eggs for the bullseye. You will know then!

Aww, well I hope you guys don't have a winter like we did! I recall just a few months ago telling you how cold it was here, and you were trying to keep your birds cool. It was almost 90 F here today (32 C), so I was the one trying to cool off the fluff butts.

I hatched out several silkies this week and I was wondering if someone could help me identify what color these "ladies" will be as they feather out. All my chicks come from 1 Blue Roo over 2 white hens... so I know the whites could throw just about anything depending on their own genetics. But I'm new to Silkies and could use some help. I apologize for the picture quality as I took these with my camera phone.

The first chick has a light greyish downy with this brown/light brown chipmunk pattern over. I'm thinking may a Partridge?

This next "girl" has a white downy with an orange spotty pattern over her. It's definitely not yellow and appears more orange in person. But hopefully these 2 pictures can give you an idea of what she is. Any ideas will help. Thanks!!!

Thank you Buck! She's a Bantam Favorelle. A good mama.

Syman, interested in seeing what someone has to say about that first one's coloring. Very pretty. I haven't seen that before in a Silki, unless..it's a partridge..and the camera lighting is making the coloring different?

Your chipmunk striped one looks partridge--all of mine were dark partridge (most turned out to be blue partridges) and I am pretty sure that your 'yellow' is a buff..I have a hard time in WV finding true, nice quality buffs..finally got my hands on a buff hen the other day and she was with buff roos..put the first 3 eggs she laid here in the bator--fingers are crossed for at least one buff baby out of those--DOes the yellow have any spots on it at all?? My splashes looked all white as chciks, and their spots slowly started showing about a month old and only got darker..

Your first one could also be a splash but I think that a splash can only result from a blue x blue cross..Id say light partridge or even possibly a red--my red hen had partridge markings as a chick but she was much more red than yours..I dont know what my buff looked like a chick, but if the red had partridge marks, I supposed its feasible that the buff did too
