Silkie thread!

Okay folks!

The butt is a round oval area. The outer part of it is oval in shape. At the top is where you'll find the separation. If the circle isn't connected, then that's what I've known to be a Roo!

OK. Here she is!
I didn't see any slit at all on her vent and I took a pic of her back end to show that her wings don't touch.

Thanks everyone for your help. I hope it's not just wait until she's older again!

There are at least 18 different shape possibilities. Vent sexing requires lots of experience . There are lots of ' old wives tales ' around. I'll be impressed when they can ' change ' the sex of a chicken !

There's a show I watched, a long time ago, about the Murray McMurray Hatching place that did a show on how they sexed the chicks. I'm sure it's out there on the internet if anyone is interested in searching for it!

I'm not big on "old wives tales" Fancy! I've just watched, looked and learned along the way. I'm only sharing what *I* know to have been the facts of what *I've* seen and figured out from having chickens! You are way more into the facts and books of the chicken world than I am! And I do value what you tell us!

Thanks

I was cleaning my first original six silkies little poopy butts when I noticed the difference(s)! And then of course there was the difference in the ankle feathers I noticed too. This is why I always say the *I* statements for ppl to see it's what *I* have learned!
