Silkie thread!

I was feeding am all flock from TSC but I noticed they were LOSING weight on it and seemed always starving, so I stopped. I cant find another all flock here in TH so I am feeding DUMOR complete pellet and worried it will be bad for my Roo's, and not so good for my chicks. I add a vit. sulp. to water for chicks. ????

It's the calcium level you need to be worried about. At 4.8% it's too high for chicks and Roos. The finishing micro pellet that I feed is only 1.8% calcium and 22% protein. It is much safer to provide the calcium on a ' free take ' basis .

This article explains it all.

I wanted to give everyone a look at my little Silkie chick I hatched back about 5 weeks ago. This is her as a day old and again today (5 weeks). I posted a question about her coloration back when she hatched and most suggested Partridge. First, is it too soon to tell sex? She's smaller than her 2 other hatch mates and seems to be the bottom of the pecking order among the 3. And second, based on what she looks like today, do you still think she's a partridge? Thank you in advance!!!

Purina flock raiser is the best that I can find protein wise and nutritionally for everyone. Its also easy giving everyone the same thing from birth up.

Peggy doesnt like to be held, neither does Hank (not pictured), but they're both super friendly and will follow me all over the yard. They are older than the rest of my choocks.

Below is Nancy. Fingers crossed for pullet. I love her black crest.
