I have been told that they are basically walking incubators. We shall see. Would make my hatching addiction easier on my husband.
Maybe i'll try it then. Ill put manure in there to start with since we dont have any fallen leaves right now.I put bales of hay , autumn leaves and horse manure in my day pens. They scratch it round till you can't even see it anymore. Great little excavators.

Hmm, Maybe i'll just lay sand down, lol. Might be easier and I can sift through it to clean it.You can't use straight manure, you'll need to cover it unless it's been composted. Pine shavings work well for deep litter if you don't have leaves.
did you look up deep litter method? It's probably the least labor intensive bedding choice.Hmm, Maybe i'll just lay sand down, lol. Might be easier and I can sift through it to clean it.
Yes and it looks like theres a ton of different methods, and sand sounds like a very common one. I just thought i'd use manure since its free but I dont have anything to mix it with and dont want to make too big a mess so maybe sand would be a better option.did you look up deep litter method?
