Silkie thread!

Temps are between 88-98 degrees depending on the house temps. They are about a week old now. So I thought that was about right on temps? It was just one chick and the smallest one at that.

do they have a place to escape the heat? It's easier for a smaller one to get dehydrated because he can't hold as much water before he "dries out"

Yes its only the temp directory under the light. They only go under it once in a while. Most of the time they are moving around the cage and they sleep together just over from the light but on the warm side of the enclosure.

My silkies are 7 weeks and 3 days old. Ha.
When can I start trying to sex them?.
Or, i've heard I might just have to wait for a crow or an egg. (That might be awhile!)

By 5 months we for sure decided one of our Partridge was a boy and sure enough he started growing streamer feathers and a much larger comb. The Partridge sister was more roundish in her crest and tail pouf where the boy was growing spikey feathers in both. Of course the crow and the egg are the final judgment for sexing LOL
