Silkie thread!

Now, that I would call mulberry. Not like Uncle Sam. I took him out in the sunlight to make sure I was getting a good view of the color and I would call his a dark red but still red. In the sunlight it looks a bit darker than you can see here but still that is a very close approximation to the correct color he has.
There are different shades of mulberry and therefore it is open to interpretation . If you see red then chances are it would be DQed. This is my idea of mulberry.

He has food and water in with him. Should a put a heat lamp over him? I can't find his wounds. Should I try cutting the feathers around where there is blood? His eyes look fine. Right now he's sleeping with his head tucked in his wing. He's standing up. Will any of these work to put on his wounds?
Yes those products will do just fine. Keep the antibiotic aside for later. You will only need it if you see signs of infection. Just let him be for awhile , keep him quiet and give him time to recover. I wouldn't cut feathers unless I had to because it may just traumatize him .

Beautiful! I had a pretty light gray colored chick but as she grew she darkened up

Every egg that hatches from my paint boy is like opening a special gift wrapped present. I never know what I'm going to get. He is filled with unexpected genes. If these lav babies developed spots, I wouldn't be surprised. If they darken, no worries. They will still be split to lavender through my hen. They will go into the Porcelain project pen or the Lavender Partridge project pen. I can't lose with them.

No, nononono. LOL To me these look like black with purple/plum in them. Uncle Sam's would most definitely be considered red next to them. Thank you.

Thank you. :D

Hello silkie folks!
I just got transferred up to Washington, and while casually perusing CL found a showgirl... I couldn't resist, considering how close it was to my parents, and my dad picked it up today and is chicken sitting until I can get a coop constructed. I've been missing my old flock, and can't wait to get started again!
This adorable showgirl is Petrie, and I'm completely in love despite not having met in person. It's supposed to be 12 to 14 weeks. I know it would be hard to sex with this picture and age, but can you help me out by telling me what color my new treasure is?
